Kågen is situated west of the island of Skjervøya and is connected to Skjervøy by the Skattørsundet bridge and to the mainland by the Maursund tunnel.

Kågen is an extremely popular destination for hiking, summit hikes and ski touring. As the snow melts late here, there are usually good conditions for ski touring until May. The island’s highest mountain is Kågtinden (1,228 m).
