- to enable our users to register for our events
- to target and remove advertisements and editorial content that are relevant/irrelevant for you
- to be able to send you up-to-date information about our destination
- to develop and improve our services and understand how they are used
- to process applications
5. Data that is processed and the purpose of the processing
We collect personal data on the website through various forms the visitor may fill in, e.g. to make a booking, register for an event, participate in a competition or book a service. In these cases, we ask for the information we require to deliver the booked service and/or contact the person. On occasions, we ask for other information that is used for statistical purposes, such as age or postal address. Visitors to the website register their personal data in our forms of their own free will.

The personal data registered in forms on our websites is not accessible to other visitors to the website. The data is not shared with a third party unless this is necessary to deliver the service that has been booked or if you have consented to this when filling in the form. Visit Lyngenfjord AS does not sell your personal data to third parties.
The data registered in forms on www.visit-lyngenfjord.com is stored by Seria AS and Visit Lyngenfjord and is not used for purposes other than what the form applies to. The data is not shared with a third party unless this is necessary to deliver the service that has been booked or if you have consented to this when filling in the form.
Data registered in connection with bookings on booking.visit-lyngenfjord.com is stored by Visit TG in the booking system Citybreak. If you have booked a service provided by a third party (e.g. hotel accommodation or a sightseeing tour), the data will be shared with the relevant service provider. This data will only be used in connection with your booking and for no other purposes. Beyond this, the data is not shared with a third party unless you have consented to this when filling in the form.
8. Searches on the website
Web search queries used on the website are collected and stored in Google Analytics. The purpose of storing these is to be able to use data about what users search for to adapt the content on the web pages and improve the search function. The words/terms used in the web search queries cannot be linked to other data about the user who has performed the search.
9. The data subject’s rights include

- You have the right to data mobility.
- You have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (DPA).
- You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

10. SSL encryption
Our websites are secured with an SSL certificate. In other words, they are encrypted. This is shown by the address starting with https, rather than the standard http. The ‘s’ stands for secure. You can check this by clicking on the padlock symbol displayed beside the website address in your web browser.
11. Facebook login
On some pages, you have the option of writing comments via a Facebook comments box. Any comments you publish will be linked to your Facebook profile, and will be displayed with your profile photo, name and occupation/workplace. Your comment and the above-mention information from your profile will be displayed on the page on which you wrote it and will be visible to all visitors to this page. This information is the property of Facebook and is not stored by Visit Lyngenfjord AS. Visit Lyngenfjord AS does not use your comments or profile information beyond it being displayed in the comments section on the relevant page.
If you are logged in to your Facebook account, you can also “like” pages on the website. If you have liked a page on visit-lyngenfjord.com, your friends can see that you liked the relevant page. Other users with whom you are not Facebook friends will only see the number of people who have clicked “like”.
12. Booking on visit-lyngenfjord.com
You provide all personal data via an encrypted page (SSL 128 bit), which makes it safe to provide information about yourself and your credit card details.
Visit Lyngenfjord AS has implemented a series of security measures to protect your personal data and credit card details. Your e-mail address will not be used for any purpose other than sending your booking confirmation.
13. Booking buttons and external links
Some pages include booking buttons that lead to other websites, e.g. to buy tickets on the events calendar, book a room in a presentation of a hotel or reserve a table at a restaurant.
14. Built-in elements from external websites
Several parts of the website include integrated content from external websites, such as TripAdvisor, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram, in the form of widgets or other built-in elements. Such elements leave cookies in your web browser, which they use to compile statistics and for marketing purposes. Visit Lyngenfjord AS does not store information about your use of these elements. However, these are collected and stored by the external company (TripAdvisor, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr or Instagram, etc.).
15. How to prevent cookies from being stored
You can delete information capsules (cookies) from your hard disk at any time. However, this means that your personal settings on those websites will disappear.
You can also change the settings in your web browser to prevent cookies from being stored on your hard disk. However, this will lead to reduced functionality on some websites, may prevent access to pages that require logging in and lead to certain content not being displayed and/or certain functions not being available.
