Helligskogen Mountain Lodge
Nestled in the remote Skibotn Valley in Norway, Helligskogen Mountain Lodge lies near the three-border point of Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
Historical Wilderness
Founded in 1846 by royal resolution, the lodge was created to provide safe and warm accommodation for travelers in the borderland. It continues to serve its original purpose, welcoming travelers and visitors to the valley. Over the years, its pastures have become a haven for caravans.
Cozy Accommodation
Stay in private rooms with shared sanitary facilities and public areas. The rooms are tastefully furnished in a classic style, evoking the atmosphere of bygone days.
ARCTIC ACTIVITIES
Escape to the pristine and quiet mountains, walking with snowshoes and enjoying pure, undisturbed nature. Experience the Northern Lights while preparing and enjoying a traditional dinner around the campfire. Relax in a steaming hot Finnish sauna and explore the surrounding wilderness.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and northern lights tour
07:00: depart from Tromsø with the Arctic Route
09:10: arrive at Helligskogen, check in and a short introduction to your stay and the activities of your 2-day stay
Enjoy a guided snowshoe walk in the surrounding nature area of Helligskogen and learn about the arctic way of life in the middle of nowhere.
When you return we will heat up the traditional finnish sauna for you to relax in before dinner.
Dinner will be served in our transformed barn.
Afterwards we will light up the fire in our outdoor shelter and you can enjoy the camp fire while waiting for the northern lights to show up.
Day 2: Winter activity and return to Tromsø
After a tasty breakfast, you can spend the day relaxing or exploring the nearby area. We can recommend some snowshoe trails for you.
Your packed lunch can be enjoyed outdoors by the camp fire or indoors in our transformed barn.
17:30: The Arctic Route bus departs for Tromsø
ca 19:30 back in Tromsø
