Northern Troms Museum: Where People, Culture, and Language Converge
At the crossroads of humanity, culture, and language, Northern Troms came into being. The museum's main exhibition takes you on a journey from the coast to the mountain range through the history of Northern Troms, telling the story of the meeting places that brought people together. The spotlight is on the period around 1900, but also casts a glance backwards and forwards.
At the trading posts along the sea route, neighbors and travelers from afar met, at home on the farm the kitchen was the center of the families, and in the outfield nature was harvested in common. Foreigners came to the mines, and at the reindeer fence old friends met again.
The exhibition is texted in Norwegian, English, Kven and Sami.
The exhibition is open all year round and is located at Halti in Storslett in Nordreisa, where the Nord-Troms Museum also has its head office.
