Storfjord municipality is only a 90-minute drive from from Tromsø. The muncipality is renowned for outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking and camping.
The municipality borders the municipalities of Balsfjord, Lyngen, Kåfjord, Målselv and Tromsø in Norway, Enontekiö in Finland and Kiruna in Sweden. The world's northernmost three-country-cairn is located at the point where the borders of Norway, Sweden and Finland meet.
