The hike up the mountain Stussnesfjellet on the island of Skjervøy is equally nice in summer and winter.
Hiking description
The viewpoint offers good views of the fishing village. In autumn and winter, it’s a good spot for viewing the Northern Lights.
You won’t need a headtorch if you head up in the evening.
If you park at the Bunnpris supermarket, follow the road a few hundred metres south until you reach the intersection between Ørneveien and Rypevegen. Walk to the end of Rypevegen and then follow the gravel road all the way to the rustic shelter on the summit.
In summer, this route is ideal for young children, users of electric wheelchairs and people pushing prams.
Just below the grill hut at the top of Stussnes mountain there is a hammock park, with room for approx. 5 hammocks. Bring your own hammock and hammock straps.
