This is an excellent day trip for families with older children who are used to hiking.
The Skihytta cabin is located directly up from Lyngseidet/Ivgomuotki. You will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the Lyngenfjord.
The path is marked from the car park beside the ski hut in Sommarsetveien up to the Skihytta cabin.
Although the cabin is the goal for many, it also serves as a popular rest area before continuing up into the mountains. There is firewood and equipment to cook food. Some have a break here before climbing mountains such as Goalsevárri and Rørnestinden.
